Back in March, I decided to start hosting a monthly contest over at Gaia online. Last month’s competition, May, revolved around creating an evil/sinister avatar using the Triple Demon Horns as the central item/idea.

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. Mind you, my art submissions aren't the quality of work that many deviants produce around here (such as yourself, M), but I'm still hoping to get back into the swing of things sometime in the not so distant future.

Truthfully, I am probably my harshest critic, but I still give more credit to those who and draw/sketch/paint/etc. It's not to say that creating digital images is a simple task, but my strengths lie moreso in the concepts than completed product.
My "Tasteful Tentacle" pieces being an excellent example of this...

I'm feeling a bit down over my D&D series. I'm happy with the art, but 4E D&D is pretty bland, and I find the concepts kind of drab compared to my Planescape characters.

I know what you mean. While I've been enjoying the artwork that you've been submitting as of late, they really don't have the personality that your Planescape characters had. Admittedly, Planescape had a lot more flavor to it but 4E is bland no matter what you compare it to.
